Access route
An access route is the agreed path by which users reach and leave a scaffold workplace.
Anchoring
Anchoring connects a scaffold to suitable building construction or another support as part of the assessed structural arrangement.
Anchoring plan
An anchoring plan describes proposed connections between a scaffold and supporting construction within the project’s technical development.

Base jack
A base jack is an adjustable scaffold support component used to establish a level within the assessed arrangement.
Base plate
A base plate is a component at the foot of a scaffold that transfers forces into the support beneath it.
Brace
A brace is a diagonal scaffold member contributing to the structural integrity and stability of the arrangement.
Bridging arrangement
A bridging arrangement is a structural provision spanning an opening or obstacle within an assessed scaffold design.

The façade gap is the distance between a scaffold working platform and the wall surface, considered within the actual arrangement.
Footprint
The footprint describes the space occupied by a proposed scaffold arrangement and its associated provisions at the location.
Frame scaffold
A frame scaffold is a scaffold in which prefabricated frames form key parts of the supporting arrangement.

Working height
Working height describes the level at which the intended task takes place or the surface needs to be reached.
Working load
Working load is the loading arising from people, materials and activities during the intended use of a scaffold.
Working platform
A working platform is the arranged scaffold level from which users perform the activities covered by the agreed use.
