Illustrative scaffolding; not a completed project

Glossary

Goods hoist

A goods hoist is equipment for moving materials between levels, with project-specific capacity, connections and operating conditions.

A goods hoist is equipment for moving materials between levels, with project-specific capacity, connections and operating conditions.

What does this mean for your project?

The Dutch term bouwlift can be used broadly in conversation. An enquiry should therefore explain what needs transport and which levels must be reached. Never assume equipment is suitable for carrying people merely because a general term for construction lifting appears in a proposal.

Describe product dimensions, the loading location and the route beyond each delivery point. Its interface with scaffolding needs coordination with working platforms and access. A hoist is not automatically included with every scaffold, so state the transport requirement explicitly during the project discussion.

Operation, use limits and changes follow the responsible supplier’s information and arrangements. This page is not an operating manual. Discuss a changed transport need before attempting to solve it by attaching additional equipment or connections to the scaffold structure yourself.

Practical questions

One more
thing.

Can a goods hoist carry people?

Do not assume it can. Use only the function established for the specific equipment and its operating information.

Is a hoist included in every scaffold quotation?

Not automatically. Explain the transport requirement and confirm who provides the equipment and its connection with the workplace.
